Glass beads jewelry design
I create glass beads using a torch. Each bead is handmade. I turn the beads into colorful boho style jewelry. The jewelry is made in my home studio, here in Pardes Hanna, Israel.
My jewelry combines glass beads with silver, copper, cord, semi-precious stone beads, crystals and silver beads. The jewelry includes necklaces, pendants, bracelets, and earrings.
Creating beads with the torch requires precision and focus which I achieve by shutting myself off from the outside world and concentrating on the fire, the glass, and my hands. I'm constantly learning new things about the combination of all three. Color guides me in all phases of my work and is my inspiration.
I grew up in a house of artists. My mother was a painter and my aunt a multidisciplinary artist, mainly an illustrator and jewelry designer.
I didn't want to engage in art at all. I went on to study "real" subjects and worked in education and later in librarianship and information technology. But creativity still attracted me and eventually I found myself studying silversmithing and then specializing in flamework beads.
I completed my studies in a course for jewelry artisans in Wizo Haifa, and in various workshops for flamework beads.
For the past ten years I have been presenting my work at the local event "Artists in the Moshava" or by its new name "Art in the Moshava".
